Permafrost is live on Stake.com, and Cowboy Crew is next

Permafrost by Hexaspin Studios is out now on Stake.com, the twentieth SlotShop title live and the fifth client label. Cowboy Crew by THUGGER is coming soon.

Permafrost is now live and playable on Stake.com.

It ships under Hexaspin Studios, and it is the first game we have built for that label. That makes Hexaspin the fifth client name on the shelf, alongside THUGGER, Project Panic, Fortune Studios and Hardhaus Studios. Permafrost is also the twentieth title built in this shop that is now live on Stake.com.

A yeti, a frozen board, and reels that lock

Permafrost is set above the treeline. The cover is a yeti crusted in ice, eyes lit blue, shoulders broken up by frozen shards. The board sits under the same cold light, so the wilds read at a glance even on a phone screen at arm's length.

The mechanics follow the theme rather than sitting next to it. Reels freeze in place, and the yeti works as the wild that keeps a frozen board paying while the rest of it turns over. A theme that describes the maths is easier to learn in one round than a theme that is only decoration, and it gives every symbol on the strip a reason to look the way it does.

Hexaspin came to us with the idea, the label and a target for how the game should feel. Everything after that was ours: the maths, the art, the motion, the audio, and the build that went in for review. Hexaspin publishes it, Hexaspin owns it, and our name is nowhere on it.

Cowboy Crew is coming to THUGGER

The next reveal is Cowboy Crew, built for THUGGER and not yet live.

It is a western, drawn in the same pixel art THUGGER has been building a house style out of. The cover is a gunslinger in a black hat and a blue neckerchief, thumbing the hammer back on a gold revolver, stood in the middle of a dusty frontier street with the town blurring out behind him.

THUGGER's pixel run already covers Backstreets: Chapter One and Chapter Two, then Asia, Egypt and Most Wanted. Most Wanted took that cast west for the first time. Cowboy Crew stays out there and builds a game around the crew rather than a single name on a poster. It is in the last stretch of production now. We will post again when it clears review and goes live.

The full catalogue has both of these, plus everything else we have shipped, newest first.

What SlotShop DEV is, in plain terms

If you found this post by searching for SlotShop or slotshopdev, here is the short version of what slotshop.dev actually does.

SlotShop is an independent studio that builds custom slot games to order. A client brings a theme, a maths target, or in some cases just a label they want to launch. We build the whole game: the maths model, the art, the animation, the audio, and the finished build that goes in for platform review on Stake Engine. What comes back is a game ready to publish.

The commercial side is deliberately plain. We quote a flat fee upfront for the build. We take no revenue share and no royalties. The client owns the finished game outright and keeps everything it earns. Our name stays off the product, which is why Permafrost is a Hexaspin Studios game and not a SlotShop one.

We do not run a casino, we do not hold an operator licence, and we do not sell anything to players. We sell finished games to the studios and operators who publish them. The Stake Engine slot development page sets out what a production run covers and what a quote includes.

Common questions

What is SlotShop DEV?

SlotShop DEV is a custom slot game studio at slotshop.dev. We build complete slot games to order for Stake Engine, covering maths, art, motion, audio and the submission build, then hand the finished game to the client to publish on Stake.com under their own label. Twenty of the games we have built are live there now across five different labels.

How do I buy a slot game from SlotShop?

Send a brief through the contact form. A brief can be as loose as a theme and a rough idea of volatility, or as tight as a full spec. We come back with scope and a flat quote, usually inside a day. Once that is agreed we build the game and hand it over ready for review. There is no ongoing fee after delivery.

Do I need my own label to publish a game on Stake.com?

Yes. Games are published on Stake.com under a publisher account, so the label is yours and the account is yours. Several of our clients started with no catalogue at all and launched a label with a single title, which is exactly what Hexaspin Studios has just done with Permafrost.

What does SlotShop actually hand over at the end?

A finished, playable game and the assets behind it, built to the standards the platform reviews against. Not a pile of art files and a spreadsheet of maths to be assembled by somebody else. Every title goes through our own pre-submission gate first, covering the maths, the legibility of the screen at small sizes, and how the game behaves on a phone, because those are the things that actually get a game sent back.

If you have a theme, a maths target, or a label you have been meaning to launch, that is enough to start from. Send it through the contact form and we will come back with a scope and a flat quote.
